A puppy that was left behind by its owner was rescued by a firefighter and taken to a shelter. Recently, a Santa Monica building complex was engulfed in flames. The firefighters discovered an unconscious dog named Nalu on the scene, struggling to survive.
According to firefighter Andrew Klein, he found the person in a condition of heat and smoke, but when he tried to reach out, he found out that the individual was no more. This statement was shared by Klein with KABC.
Klein administered CPR by giving mouth-to-snout to the puppy before putting an oxygen mask on him. After nearly 20 minutes, the puppy’s breathing returned to normal, and he regained consciousness and movement. The neighbors then took him to a nearby animal hospital for further treatment.
When Crystal Lamirande came home and found her apartment on fire, her beloved pet Nalu, a mix of Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu, unfortunately did not survive. Despite the tragic loss, Lamirande has formed a close relationship with her local fire department, who have provided comfort and support during this difficult time. Though the fire consumed all of her belongings, she is grateful for the kindness and care shown by those who responded to the emergency.
Klein expressed his satisfaction with the successful rescue of Nalu to KTLA, citing that he had participated in several animal rescues before but not all went as smoothly as this one. The team members also echoed their sentiment that Nalu’s return was a success for everyone involved.
In just ten minutes, the skilled firefighters were able to put out the blaze and ensure that no harm was done to anyone involved. Great work, team!
